How Flipside Matched Classroom Supplies with Local Needs

Flipside Products donated educational and organizational products with a combined retail value of more than $150,000 to nine schools, nonprofits, and community organizations throughout Greater Cincinnati. The yearlong initiative supported educators and organizations with valuable classroom resources, giving thousands of educational products a new purpose.

The Donation Drive focused on matching available discontinued inventory with specific needs at local schools and nonprofits. This gave products a new purpose in the community while creating space in our warehouse for new products and expanded inventory.

As a manufacturer and distributor of educational, office, presentation, and display products, Flipside has served schools, businesses, retailers, and organizations for 35+ years. Supporting educators has always been an important part of what we do, which made our local schools and nonprofits a natural place to start.

Sales Account Manager Crystal Menner coordinated directly with donation recipients throughout the year. She spoke with educators about what they needed, helped determine which available products would be useful, and organized the distribution of supplies.

From selecting products based on educators’ needs to packing and coordinating deliveries, our team worked directly with each recipient to get the supplies where they could be put to use.

How Did the Drive Benefit the Cincinnati Community?

In total, six schools, two community nonprofits, and one camp received supplies through the Donation Drive. One of the largest donations went to Reading Community City Schools, which received more than $45,000 in retail value of donated products. With so many supplies available, the district graciously shared a portion of their donation with STS. Peter & Paul Academy, extending the impact to even more local students.

The impact of the Donation Drive extended beyond the Cincinnati area through Matthew 25: Ministries. Flipside donated more than 20 skids of supplies, including dry erase boards, chalkboards, easels, corrugated sheets, and other products. These products can now be redistributed to communities in need and people affected by disasters throughout the United States and around the world.
